When my dad, Arthur Magennis, was on chemotherapy in 2012, he had two sleepless nights each week and to fill the tiime he started writing the story of his childhood in Northern Ireland in 1920s/30s up to leaving Ireland in the early 1950s.  It's a great  read - amusing ,  interesting and has got five star reviews.

***** Great read!

wonderful book. Great character and brings back so many memories of long ago Wish it had been longer. Would recommend highly

***** the past comes to life

Would recommend this to anyone who is interested in Ireland of yesteryear. A interesting story of life in the Ireland of "the quiet man" type scenario" with a wealth of characters, all the more interesting that they are not fictional.

I wrote these songs for the video below from two of my dad's poems  as a Birthday/Father's Day present. - so his book

'Living in the Past'  has a soundtrack!
